Outcomes
What you will be able to do
Not topics covered — things you will be able to do at work the week after.
Build a budget you will actually keep
See where the money goes each month, plan the next one, and use a method simple enough to survive a busy week.
Get out of expensive debt
Work out the true cost of a loan, tell useful borrowing from the kind that traps you, and follow a plan to clear it.
Save and invest with a purpose
Build an emergency fund, save toward something specific, and judge the savings and investment products in front of you — starting with the ones on offer in Tanzania — on their real risks.
Read your business numbers
Profit and loss, cash flow, and what they are telling you — in plain language, without an accounting background.
Keep business and personal money apart
Set up accounts and records so you always know what the business actually earned, and pay yourself deliberately.
Plan for tax and for later
Put money aside for obligations before they arrive, and start thinking past this month.
Curriculum
What the course covers
4 modules · 4 weeks · 2 live sessions per week. Open one to see what is inside it.
01Week 1 — Where your money actually goes
Tracking income and expense honestly for a week. Building a budget around real numbers. The habits that keep one alive past the first month.
02Week 2 — Debt and credit
Loan terms and the true cost of borrowing. Banks, SACCOS, and mobile lenders compared. Getting out of a debt trap, and borrowing safely when it is worth it.
03Week 3 — Saving and investing
Emergency funds and saving goals. Worked through on the options available in Tanzania — SACCOS, fixed deposits, government bonds, unit trusts — with the risks stated plainly, and how to run the same test on whatever is sold where you live. Spotting a scheme that is too good to be true.
04Week 4 — Business money
Reading a profit and loss and a cash flow statement. Separating business and personal funds. Pricing for margin. Planning for tax and keeping records a bank will accept.

Questions people ask
Is this about personal money or business money?
Both. The first three weeks are personal — budgeting, debt, saving, and investing. The last week turns to business money, which matters whether you own a business or handle money inside one. Everything is taught in plain language, with no accounting background assumed.
What is Skool and why do I need it?
Skool is the platform that hosts the course videos, materials, and community discussion. Creating an account is free and takes about two minutes. Payment and access are handled entirely by Skool.
What if I miss a live session?
Every session is recorded and posted in the community, so you can catch up in your own time and still ask questions afterwards.
Can I take this from outside Tanzania?
Yes — the courses are live online and open to students anywhere. Sessions run on East Africa Time (GMT+3) and every one is recorded, so joining from a different time zone costs you nothing but the live question-and-answer. Skool takes international cards and prices are shown in US dollars.
What language is the course taught in?
English, and all course materials are in English. Where everyone in a session happens to speak Swahili we will explain in it as well, but you never need Swahili to follow a course.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes — a Profix Companies certificate of completion once you finish the course and present your final project.
Can my organisation enrol several people?
Yes. Get in touch through the contact form or on WhatsApp and we will arrange group enrolment for teams.
