Business Management
Run the business instead of firefighting it — clear roles, operations that do not depend on you being in the room, a handful of numbers you watch every week, and customers who come back. For owners and managers whose business has outgrown the way it was started.

Outcomes
What you will be able to do
Not topics covered — things you will be able to do at work the week after.
State your strategy on one page
Decide what business you are actually in, and turn that into the three things that matter this quarter.
Organise the work
Set roles and responsibilities, and decide which decisions genuinely need you and which do not.
Write down how the work is done
Turn what is in your head into procedures people follow, so quality survives staff leaving.
Manage people properly
Hire for the role you actually have, set expectations in writing, and hold a performance conversation without dreading it.
Run the business on numbers
Read your own accounts, forecast cash, and watch the few indicators that tell you early when something is wrong.
Keep the customers you win
Service standards, complaint handling, and the follow-up that turns one sale into a relationship.
Curriculum
What the course covers
8 modules · 8 weeks · 2 live sessions per week. Open one to see what is inside it.
01Week 1 — What business you are actually in
Customers, value, and competition. Setting a strategy that fits on one page, and translating it into this quarter’s priorities.
02Week 2 — Structure and roles
Organising work as the business grows. Job roles and responsibilities. Delegation, and deciding which decisions come to you.
03Week 3 — Operations and procedures
Mapping how work actually flows. Writing standard operating procedures people will follow. Removing the steps that add nothing.
04Week 4 — People
Hiring, onboarding, and contracts. Setting expectations. Performance conversations and discipline, with the employment basics an owner has to know — Tanzanian law as the worked example, and how to check your own.
05Week 5 — Money in management
Reading your own accounts. Cash flow forecasting. Costing, pricing decisions, and controlling expense without starving the business.
06Week 6 — Sales and customers
The sales pipeline. Service standards and complaint handling. Earning repeat business and referrals rather than buying every customer twice.
07Week 7 — Measuring what matters
Choosing a few real indicators. A weekly dashboard that takes minutes to update. Running a management meeting that ends in decisions.
08Week 8 — Growth and risk
Planning the next stage. Compliance, licensing, and insurance. Building a business that keeps running when you are not in the room.

Questions people ask
How is this different from the Project Management course?
Project Management is about delivering a defined piece of work on time and on budget. Business Management is about running the whole operation week after week — people, money, operations, and customers. Many students take both; if you are choosing one, start with whichever problem is costing you most right now.
What is Skool and why do I need it?
Skool is the platform that hosts the course videos, materials, and community discussion. Creating an account is free and takes about two minutes. Payment and access are handled entirely by Skool.
What if I miss a live session?
Every session is recorded and posted in the community, so you can catch up in your own time and still ask questions afterwards.
Can I take this from outside Tanzania?
Yes — the courses are live online and open to students anywhere. Sessions run on East Africa Time (GMT+3) and every one is recorded, so joining from a different time zone costs you nothing but the live question-and-answer. Skool takes international cards and prices are shown in US dollars.
What language is the course taught in?
English, and all course materials are in English. Where everyone in a session happens to speak Swahili we will explain in it as well, but you never need Swahili to follow a course.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes — a Profix Companies certificate of completion once you finish the course and present your final project.
Can my organisation enrol several people?
Yes. Get in touch through the contact form or on WhatsApp and we will arrange group enrolment for teams.
